this world has NOTHING for me.

I spent Tuesday morning at сарымодаева orphanage,
loving on my kids. And while there, an incredible story
from Luke 15 came to beautiful life before my
eyes—the return of the prodigal son.

During our morning visit, we heard some bad
news… One of the older boys had, the morning before,
run away.

We played bingo and follow the leader and bubbles with
the kids, and then piled in the Mazda, Kiikzhan driving,
girls in the back, to head home. As we were driving out,
down the road away from the orphanage, we saw our
prodigal son. He was walking up the road, back toward
сарымодаева orphanage. He was lost and now is found!
With the world at his back, his eyes were fixed
forward—fixed on home.

Kiikzhan slammed on the breaks—so hard that my seatbelt
caught—and jumped out of the car and ran toward our
prodigal son. He gathered him into his arms and held him
tight and welcomed him back. What an incredible display
of the open arms of our Father, eagerly welcoming us home
after each time we wander away.

I guess when it really comes down to it, there's really no
place like safe at home. There's nothing in the world that
can replace that. Our prodigal son was welcomed home
with open arms and faces of sheer joy.

Welcome back, Child. Welcome home.

THIS WORLD HAS NOTHING FOR ME.
